Already at a young age Alejandro CARRILLO GAMBOA gave concerts in his home country of Mexico and performed on television, radio and at international music festivals. During one of his live performances, his talent was discovered by a well-known musician who also worked as a professor at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, Austria. Thereupon, he began studying guitar at the renowned Mozarteum University (Salzburg, Austria) and graduated his Master's degree with honors, not only in guitar performance but also in music education. Furthermore, he studied at the international renowned University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Austria) the University of Music and Dance Cologne (Germany) and the Conservatory de las Rosas in Morelia (Mexico), specializing in choral and orchestral conducting, early and contemporary music and singing.

 

At present Alejandro continues to perform on the most internationally renowned stages such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg as well as the Konzerthaus Berlin, Konzerthaus Vienna and Laeizhalle Hamburg of the Elbphilharmonie. He captures his audiences’ attention with his unique guitar sounds, spirited interpretations of the great composers of classical guitar literature and also with his own compositions and singing.

 

He has received several awards for his artistic activities in his home country, including the Best Young Artist award.

 

He is repeatedly described by the media as a virtuoso guitarist. He is known for creatively combining emotions with a well thought out musical concept and giving them an unmistakable expression. His style makes him an outstanding poetic artist on the guitar.

 

Up until now he has released four CD albums with his own compositions, solo music, his vocals and many music videos.

His long-standing passion for teaching music is currently being experienced by his students in guitar lessons and master classes.
